Oakton Divers Compete in Annual Wally Martin Meet
Oakton Divers Compete in 3 Meter and 1 Meter Synchro Events on July 15, 2018 at Oak Marr Recreation Center

The Wally Martin meet is named after the man who introduced diving to the NVSL in 1961. The meet is unlike any other NVSL dual meet during the summer season as the only events at this meet are 3 Meter Individual and 1 Meter Synchro events. The Oakton Otters (Oakton Swim and Racquet Club) had a great showing and performed well at the meet at Oak Marr Recreation Center on Sunday, July 15, 2018.
Three OSRC records were set in 3 Meter events: Megan Shipley (Freshman 10 & Under Girls in 12th place with a score of 27.50); Jon Anthony Montel (Freshman 10 & Under Boys in 5th place with a score of 51.00); and Spencer Dearman (Intermediate 13-14 Boys in 5th place with a score of 136.05). The other Oakton diver who dove in a 3 Meter event was Brendan Doe (Junior 11-12 Boys, 11th).
The Oakton Divers also competed in the 1 Meter Synchro events as well. The teams who competed were: Meghan Shipley and Isabelle Whang (12 & Under Girls, 8th); Brendan Doe and Jon Anthony Montel (12 & Under Boys, 6th); Molly Estes and Molly Kenefick (13 & Over Girls, 5th); Spencer Dearman and Blaise Wuest (13 & Over Boys, 5th) (pictured in photo with Coach Liam Klopfenstein and Coach Ken Hansen).
