Rain Rears its Ugly Head in Oakton: Weekend Weather Forecast

Autumn has finally arrived, as indicated by this weekend’s forecast throughout Northern Virginia.

Temperatures continue to drop as wind gusts continue to pick up, distancing the area from the warm, calm summer weather.

Temperatures will be in the mid-70s on Friday but will fall to the mid-60s by Sunday, and wind gusts of more than 10 miles an hour are projected all throughout the coming weekend.

Rain is in the forecast on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, contributing to the cool weather and making for some messy conditions as we enter another football weekend.

Friday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 75. East wind 8 to 11 mph.

Friday night: A slight chance of rain after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Northeast wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Saturday: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 72. East wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Saturday night: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a low around 60. East wind 11 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

Sunday: Rain. High near 68. Northeast wind 14 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Sunday night: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a low around 62. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
