Alexandria Schools Adjust Meal Distribution During Spring Break

The school district will consolidate meal distribution during spring break, which is designated as a student holiday.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — During the week of April 6 to 10 designated as a spring break holiday, free meal distributions for Alexandria City Public Schools students are consolidated into one site. The free meals are available to any ACPS student and any child age 2 and up.

The City of Alexandria is running the meal distributions on the Chinquapin side of T.C. Williams High School Wednesday, April 8, and Friday, April 10, from 9 a.m. to noon. No registration is required to obtain the meals. Meals include multiple days worth of cold breakfast and lunch with fresh fruit, vegetables and sandwiches.

Regular meal distribution at all 10 sites will resume on Monday, April 13. Sites distributing meals between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are William Ramsay Elementary School, Francis C. Hammond Middle School, Cora Kelly School for Math, Science and Technology and Jefferson-Houston PreK-8 IB School.

  • Mason Apartments at South Reynolds Street: 10:45 a.m.-11:15 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
  • Brent Place Apartments at 375 South Reynolds Street: 11:20 a.m.-11:50 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
  • Ruby Tucker Family Center at 322 Tancil Court: 10:45 a.m.-11:15 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
  • Community Lodgings at 607 Notabene Drive: 10:45 a.m.-11:15 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
  • Old Towne West Apartments (parking lot) at 500 South Alfred Street: 11:20 a.m.-11:50 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays

After spring break, ACPS has a teacher workday on Monday, April 13. With K-12 schools closed for the rest of the academic year, ACPS has provided a continuity of learning plan running after spring break through the end of the fourth quarter.
