Alexandria Schools' Food Distribution To Pause For Winter Break
The last day for food distribution before Jan. 4 will be Friday, Dec. 18, according to ACPS.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria City Public Schools will not offer food distribution during winter break for its students and all children ages 2 to 18.
The school district's last food distribution before winter break is Friday, Dec. 18. Food distribution will resume on Jan. 4, 2021, the first day of school after winter break.
Families who requested a winter break five-day meal kit were asked to pick them up on Thursday, Dec. 17 from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Winter break runs from Monday, Dec. 21 to Sunday, Jan. 3.

Outside the winter break closure, grab-and-go meal distributions take place Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 7:30 a.m. and noon at these locations:

- Francis C. Hammond Middle School 4646 Seminary Road, Alexandria, VA 22304
- Cora Kelly School for Math, Science and Technology 3600 Commonwealth Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22305
- Jefferson-Houston PreK-8 IB School 1501 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314
- Mount Vernon Community School 2601 Commonwealth Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22305
- Patrick Henry K-8 School 4643 Taney Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22304
- T.C. Williams High School 3330 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22304

There will be a food distribution for ACPS student in need only through ALIVE. On Dec. 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., students in need can receive one bag of food (seven days of breakfast and lunch food items) at William Ramsay Recreation Center (5650 Sanger Avenue) and Leonard "Chick" Armstrong Recreation Center (25 West Reed Avenue).
