Are you looking for a good slice of pizza in Old Town Alexandria?

Mia’s Italian Kitchen opened in mid-April 2018 at 100 King Street on the corner of King Street and Union Street. As most know who frequent Old Town, this location has changed restaurants many times over the past decade. I don’t think we will have to worry about anything changing anytime soon. Mia’s offers a comfort food Italian menu but on this Sunday afternoon we were on the hunt for a good slice of pizza to go.

Mia’s Italian Kitchen hit the spot. We ordered two slices of each the margherita V and bistecca. Margherita was standard slice with a good amount of sauce and mozzarella. Bistecca slice was a cheesesteak on a pizza; onions, peppers, provolone cheese and it was delicious.

The menu offers about 12 different slices between $5 - $8 per order. Each order is one large square brick oven square pizza (they cut it into halves). We ordered when I got to the door and it took about 10 minutes to get my slices however I could have ordered on-line or on their Mia’s pizza app if we were in a rush.

It was a Sunday afternoon and they were pretty busy; We went after lunchtime and before the dinner crowd; call it afternoon snack time. They are opened seven days a week and normal weekday business hours are 11AM – 12AM, they have extended hours Friday – Sunday.

Mia’s Italian Kitchen is owned by Alexandria Restaurant Group; they also own The Majestic, Vola’s Dockside Grill, Virtue Feed & Grain as well as others. A nice addition to the restaurant group and Old Town. Mia’s is a great place to grab a slice to go; enjoy it at one of the parks, fountain square or back at your house. You won’t be disappointed.
