Armed Assault Sunday Night in Alexandria: Police
A victim was transported to the hospital Sunday night in Alexandria after an armed assault; a suspect is in custody, police said.
ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a felonious assault Sunday night in the 3800 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue, police announced in an alert Sunday at 8:15 p.m.
The victim was transported to the hospital, and the suspect was apprehended by officers, according to police. The victim and the suspect were known to each other, police said. Expect police activity in the area.
