Best Virginia Summer Beers To Put In Your Cooler

Summer is made for beer. A new report says these summertime brews should be in your cooler, Virginia.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Summer and beer go together like summer and barbecue. Not just any beer though. Have you peeked at the forecast for the next couple of months? It's going to be warm. This means guests are going to want a refreshing alcoholic beverage when you invite them over for a barbecue, so why not choose a nice summertime brew?

Luckily, the good folks over at Popular Mechanics compiled a list of the best such brew in every state.
Virginia's best summertime brew is the Port City Optimal Wit, the report said.

"The name doesn't lie. This really is the pinnacle of one of the best summer beer styles," Popular Mechanics said.

If that doesn't suit your fancy, the report listed Hardywood Cream Ale and Devils Backbone Vienna Lager as honorable mentions, either of which could certainly be worthy additions to any proper summer get-together.
