COVID-19 Vaccines Available In Alexandria: Week Of May 23 Guide
Opportunities to get the COVID-19 vaccine are coming up for people 12 and older in Alexandria.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — Over half of Alexandrians 12 and older have at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, and appointments continue to be available.
The city has a target of vaccinating 80 percent of Alexandria residents 12 or older, an estimated 110,000. As of Monday, 71,264 people have at least one dose, or 51.8 percent of the population 12 and older. There are 61,034 people fully vaccinated, or 44.4 percent of the population 12 and older. Ages 12 to 15 were added to the city's target after the Pfizer vaccine was authorized for these ages.
The health department has been focusing recent vaccine outreach on people that may face barriers like transportation, technology and language. From May 14 to 20, bilingual health department staff have knocked on doors, primarily in the West End and Arlandria, to offer vaccine appointments.
