Crash Turns Fatal In Old Town Alexandria, Witnesses Sought
Police say one of the two involved drivers died of injuries in the hospital after the crash.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Tuesday's crash on Washington Street in Alexandria turned fatal, according to Alexandria Police.
The two-vehicle crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. in the 900 block of North Washington Street, just south of where the road turns into the George Washington Memorial Parkway. One of the drivers, Meigs Hodge, 56, of Alexandria, was taken to a hospital and later died of his injuries.
The police department's Crash Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the crash. Witnesses or anyone with video footage should call Officer Nancy Gordon at 571-289-6794.

Drivers experienced delays in the area of the crash on Tuesday. At one point, Alexandria Police reported North Washington Street was closed in both directions between Madison Street and Slaters Lane.
