Doggy Daycare/Coffee + Wine Bar Proposed for Alexandria
Wag + Bone, Bar.K would offer doggy daycare, grooming, boarding as well as a wine and coffee bar.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Alexandrians like dogs, coffee and wine. Why not combine all three? Two Arlington residents have applied to the Alexandria Planning Commission to open a 7,000 square foot doggy daycare called Wag & Bone, a pet daycare, grooming and boarding facility and a companion business for "pet parents," Bar.K, a wine and coffee bar.
The business would offer a morning pickup service for dogs, from 7-8:30 a.m., for those who can't drop off their pets. For those who do drop off pets, Wag & Bone will offer a "valet" service, with employees in the parking lot waiting to escort dogs into the daycare.
The doggy daycare would take up 4,650 square feet and be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. One new concept they plan to use is the PowerLoo Sanitizing Flush Away system for disposal of pet waste.

Bar.K, occupying 595 square feet, would be open from 6 a.m. to 12 noon and again from 4-10 p.m. and will offer coffee, wine and beer from local manufacturers.
A rescue facility for cats, King Street Cats, is nearby, at 25 Dove St.
