Encore Drive-In Movies Announced In Alexandria

An encore series of drive-in movies benefiting Alexandria charities follows a sold-out first round of movies.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — After an initial drive-in movie series in Alexandria sold out, an encore series will start up on Oct. 31.

The Alexandria Drive-In Theatre, presented by Alexandria businesses ALX Community and The Garden will host the series from Oct. 31 to Dec. 5 at 5001 Eisenhower Avenue. A variety of movie classics and family favorites will be featured.

"The first round of movies sold out in 4 days! How could we NOT do more?!” said Allen Brooks, chief operating officer of The Garden. "It’s so incredible to see the city come out and celebrate movies, togetherness, and charity during a time when going to the movies and being together is nearly impossible."

"Alexandria Drive-In started as a dream to help raise funds for locally loved nonprofits and to offer friends and neighbors safe family entertainment," said Kelly Grant, chief operating officer for ALX Community. "Our entire (all-volunteer) crew was so amazed at the community response and continuing desire for the drive-in, it was a unanimous decision to find a way to continue with a second series."
