Sebele was a member of the San Diego Sockers, a professional indoor soccer team. Shadow played for West Virginia University from 2009-2012. He joined the Sockers this season from the Wichita B52’s. The nickname “Shadow” came from the fact that growing up he would follow his older brother everywhere he went, a Sockers’ statement said.

He played soccer for Episcopal.

Supporters have raised nearly $13,000 in less than 24 hours, according to the funding page. Here’s an announcement on the site:

Shadow had a spirit that touched so many people across this country from Alexandria, VA to Morgantown, WV to Wichita, KS to San Diego, CA.

A Memorial Service is planned for Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA where he attended boarding school and called “home” with his guardians Diane and Doug Kehlenbrink and their son Peter.

The Memorial Service will take place in Callaway Chapel at Episcopal High School on Sunday January 17, 2016 at 2:30 pm with a reception to follow.

Shadow’s mother and father wish for his body to be transported to their home in Zimbabwe and also wish to have a traditional funeral service at his final resting place.

We are hoping to provide as much financial support as possible for the transportation of his remains, the funeral service and other expenses to the Sebele family.

Let’s get Shadow home.
