The National Weather Service has issued a Gale Warning for the Potomac River Wednesday and Thursday.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The National Weather Service on Wednesday has issued a Gale Warning for the Potomac River. The Gale Warning is in effect Wednesday and continues until Thursday at 12 noon, according to the weather service.
Weather services issue a gale warning for maritime locations currently or imminently experiencing winds of Gale Force on the Beaufort scale. Wind speeds were clocked at about 39 MPH Wednesday in Alexandria.
