Happy Mother’s Day From Avery Nelson
"You brighten the dark world around us and give each and every person you meet a flashlight to help see through that darkness."

In celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday May 13, we asked Patch readers to write a letter to their mother and let us deliver it. This is Avery Nelson's letter to her mom:
Dear Mom,
You are more than anyone could ask for. You brighten the dark world around us and give each and every person you meet a flashlight to help see through that darkness. I cannot help but to think what life would be like without my best friend. From the moment I came into this world, you have given me more than I ever needed. You have not just given me people I trust and enjoy being with, endless support, love and kindness, but also a home.
Every day when I wake up until when I lie in bed, no matter how good or bad the day has been, my heart knows I belong here, and this is my home thanks to you. There isn’t one word I could use to describe how thankful I am I get to spend every moment of my life with you.
Thank you for all the times you believed in me when no one else did. Thank you for giving up hours on end driving me to the activities I deeply enjoy. Thank you for holding my hand every step of the way until I was ready to walk on my own. Thank you for making sacrifices to let me experience new things and grow as a person. Thank you for making me who I am. Happy Happy Happy Mother’s day to my Sunshine, the best mother on the Earth!
Love you more than words can express,
Avery
