King Street Trolley Set To Return In Old Town Alexandria
The trolley serving King Street in Old Town had been suspended for over a year due to the pandemic.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — After over a year of the King Street Trolley being suspended, visitors along King Street will soon be able to hop aboard again. The free King Street Trolley will return to service on Monday, July 5.
Trolley service will run daily with a few adjustments. As the 100 block of King Street remains closed to vehicular traffic, the King Street Trolley will only run between the King Street Metro and Market Square at Alexandria City Hall. A new trolley stop will serve the southeast corner of Market Square on North Fairfax Street. The stops at Union Street and Lee Street will not be served.
Hours will be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week, including holidays. Trolleys will run every 10 minutes.

The trolley has remained suspended for nearly 15 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Much of other DASH Bus service has returned to pre-pandemic levels.
Face masks are still federal required on public transportation, including the King Street Trolley. The trolley vehicles are equipped with plexiglass driver barriers, and face masks are provided as needed.
