Member of Football Team in 'Remember the Titans' Dies After Car Crash: Report
Darryl "Blue" Stanton played on the celebrated T.C. Williams squad that won the state championship.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A member of the T.C. Williams High School football team portrayed in the movie "Remember the Titans" died last week following a car crash in North Carolina, according to a media report.
Darryl "Blue" Stanton Sr. played on the team that won the state championship in 1971, the year that the school was integrated, WUSA-TV Channel 9 reported.
In "Remember the Titans," the 2000 movie that starred Denzel Washington, Blue was played by actor Earl Poitier, according to Channel 9. Washington played Herman Boone, the team's head coach.

Stanton passed away on March 16, according to a memorial Facebook page for T.C. Williams graduates, and the family and friends of Stanton, a member of the Class of 1973, wrote their condolences to the family on the page. No information was available on funeral arrangements.
