Metro said in a news release the stations were closed in March to conserve cleaning supplies in the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic. Each was identified as having low ridership during the pandemic or close proximity to another station.
After Sunday, the only station remaining closed is Arlington Cemetery on the Blue Line. Arlington Cemetery is closed to the general public but remains accessible to family pass holders.
