The Office of Historic Alexandria continues their popular homeschool programs with two more classes this winter. All classes are designed to engage the entire family, and are recommended for ages 6 and up. Tickets are $8 per child, adults free. Pre-registration is required, and tickets can be purchased online at shop.alexandriava.gov.

- January 24: Firefighting Technology, Friendship Firehouse, 107 S. Alfred Street
Choose from two sessions: 10-11:30 a.m. or 1-2:30 p.m.
Explore STEM through historic fire-fighting technology. Students will see how technology has evolved and test the scientific concepts behind how the historic equipment worked.
- February 28: 17th and 18th Century Music and Dance
Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, 134 N. Royal Street
Morning session: 10-11:30 a.m.
Even without iPods, music was an important part of daily life in early America. Enjoy a special interactive presentation of instruments and dances from Colonial and Early American music.
