Old Town Alexandria Restaurant Welcomes New Chef
New chef for King Street eatery is native of southwest France, classically trained in French cuisine.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- BRABO restaurant last week welcomed Sébastien Rondier as the new executive chef for its kitchen in Old Town Alexandria. A native of southwest France, Rondier is classically trained in French cuisine and has expanded his culinary talent over the last 14 years in the United States. His experience includes working closely with Alain Ducasse at such restaurants as Adour at St. Regis in Washington, D.C.; miX On The Beach at W Retreat & Spa on Vieques Island, Puerto Rico; Benoit Bistro in New York City; and Le Louis XV in Monte Carlo, France. Rondier also created the new concept of Decanter at St. Regis in Washington, D.C. and served as a task force chef for Kauai Grill at St. Regis in Princeville, Hawaii.
Rondier’s executive chef position will replace BRABO’s chef de cuisine role, which was most recently held by Harper McClure. After three and a half years of service, McClure is closing his chapter at BRABO. He is grateful for his time with BRABO and is helping Rondier transition into his new role.
“We are thankful to Harper for his contribution to BRABO and wish him well in his future endeavors,” said Lauren Lathrop, general manager of BRABO. “We look forward to having Sebastien join the team to continue our well-established commitment of providing exceptional food, superior service and neighborly friendliness.”
