Man Killed After Car Hits Him in Alley: Alexandria Police
Officers are investigating whether the driver lost control of his vehicle striking two people, according to Alexandria Police.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — One man is dead and another injured Tuesday morning after a car driven by an elderly man struck the two men in an alley in Old Town Alexandria.
A police spokesperson said the two victims were a parking attendant and a maintenance worker who were working in an alley off the 100 block of South Fairfax Street.
The parking attendant was injured but is expected to be OK. The maintenance worker was pronounced dead at the scene, reportedly around 10:10 a.m.

The fatality is described as a 45-year-old Hispanic male. His name was not released.
The elderly man drove his car through the alley and first hit the parking attendant, then the maintenance worker, according to police.

The driver remained on the scene and was cooperating with police.
Police said they are investigating whether the driver lost control of the vehicle. They do not believe there was any malicious intent in the wreck.
Investigators are collecting video and witness statements from the area to assist in the investigation.
