Part Of King Street Closed Temporarily For Train Track Work
The closure of King Street near the Metro and Amtrak stations is related to work on the CSX tracks.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A portion of King Street is closed near the Metro and Amtrak stations on Monday afternoon due to repair work.
King Street is closed between Callahan Drive/Russell Road and Commonwealth Avenue/Dangerfield Road for an undetermined amount of time. Alexandria's Department of Transportation and Environmental Services said the emergency repair work is occurring on the CSX train tracks.
The closure applies to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Residents should follow signage and traffic control devices. A detour is available via Diagonal Road, Duke Street and Callahan Drive.

There is no estimated time frame for repairs to be completed.
