Power Outage Damage Delays Opening Of Alexandria Pool
The city says a power outage caused damage to Memorial Pool.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Alexandria residents will have one less place to swim, at least for Memorial Day weekend. The city says Memorial Pool at Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe Street won't open on time.
A power outage from Thursday's severe thunderstorm caused mechanical damage, according to the city. The city's other two pools, Old Town Pool at 1609 Cameron Street and Warwick Pool 3301 Landover Street, are scheduled to open as planned on Saturday, May 25. Great Waves Waterpark at 4001 Eisenhower Avenue will also open on May 25.
An update on Memorial Pool's opening will be provided on Tuesday, May 28. More information on pool hours is available at www.alexandriava.gov/Aquatics.
