Pride Flags Vandalized At Alexandria's Market Square
Police are seeking information on Pride flags thrown in the fountain at Market Square.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria Police are seeking information on vandalized Pride flags at Market Square.
The city is displaying the Pride Progress flags outside City Hall as part of Pride Month in June. The Pride Progress Flag replaces the previously-displayed Rainbow Pride Flag to include black, indigenous, and people of color transgender and nonbinary communities.
Police say several flags were taken down and thrown in the fountain at Market Square. The flags were believed to be taken down between 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 5 and 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 6. The flags have since been replaced.
