Sameday Health Helps Vaccinate Wait List In Alexandria
Sameday Health began vaccinating in Alexandria last week and will offer the vaccine in Tysons in the coming weeks.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — Sameday Health, a COVID-19 testing provider in Alexandria and other locations around the U.S., is now offering the COVID-19 vaccine to help address the city's wait list.
Vaccinations began last week at Sameday Health's location at 309 South Washington Street in Alexandria, according to the Sameday Health team. The company is initially is offering the Moderna vaccine and has vaccinated the first 100 people. The location has a capacity to vaccine 200 people per day.
Sameday Health is one of the options available to people eligible in phases 1a and 1b who are on the Alexandria Health Department's registration list. Registration continues to be through the state vaccination system: vaccinate.virginia.gov. Sameday Health applied to be a vaccinator through the needed state and local channels.

"While the COVID-19 pandemic changes course and evolves, Sameday Health is evolving to continue to stop the spread of the virus," said Sameday Health CEO and Co-Founder Felix Huettenbach in a statement. "As Sameday Health, we are committed to providing accessible care. Through this evolution, we are looking forward to being a trusted resource for vaccination, testing and telehealth."
According to Sameday Health, vaccination appointments start with check-ins through a custom-built system and screening questions. From there, patients are sent to an assigned nurse and given the vaccine. Patients are placed in an observation area for up to 15 minutes after getting the vaccine and are released afterward.

Another Sameday Health location in Tysons will begin vaccinations in the coming weeks. That location will have the capacity to provide 1,000 doses per day, but that will take time while doses ramp up. Those vaccinations will also be available as a scheduling option for people on the Fairfax County Health Department's registration list.
The company’s COVID-19 testing offerings continue through Sameday Testing, a division of Sameday Health. Appointments for testing can be booked directly online.
