Society Fair Receives Nod from 'Food and Wine'

Society Fair in Old Town Alexandria was named one of Food and Wine’s best new bars in the United States on Monday.

List curator Jim Meehan, a mixologist with PDT in New York, highlighted Society Fair’s wine-influenced cocktails drawn up by Todd Thrasher.

Located at 277 S. Washington St., the city’s “epicurean emporium” opened in January 2012.

Arlington County’s TNT, which sits with Society Fair underneath the Eat Good Food Group umbrella, also made the list.

Other DC-area bars getting nods include Jose Andres’ Barmimi, Bryan Voltaggio’s Range, Room 11 and The Eddy Bar at Hank’s on the Hill.
