Some Alexandria Museums To Reopen In March
A few city-operated museums will reopen with restrictions in late March.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Select museums run by the Office of Historic Alexandria will reopen to the public in late March.
The Alexandria History Museum will reopen on March 25, Gadsby’s Tavern Museum and Alexandria Archaeology Museum will reopen on March 26, and Friendship Firehouse Museum will open on select Saturdays. City-operated museums were initially closed in March 2020 as pandemic restrictions started. The Alexandria Archaeology Museum, Alexandria's History Museum at The Lyceum and Gadsby's Tavern Museum had reopened with restrictions on dates over the summer, but all museums shut down again on Dec. 22 as the region experienced a rise in COVID-19 cases.
Visitors can reserve an entry time to guarantee admission to Alexandria History Museum and Gadsby's Tavern Museum at AlexandriaVa.gov/Shop. Admission is free for City of Alexandria residents. For others, a discounted flat rate of $5 is available for a group up to 10 people. Regular per person admission applies for tickets bought in person while supplies last. The Alexandria Archaeology Museum is free and available on a walk-up basis.
