Students To Rally In Old Town Against Gun Violence
Students Demand Action will host a rally Saturday evening in Alexandria's Market Square to protest gun violence.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Young people from the Alexandria area will gather Saturday evening in Old Town for a rally against gun violence, according to Students Demand Action, a nationwide group of teens and young adults that advocates for reform of the nation's gun laws.
The Back to School Rally Against Gun Violence is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Market Square, on King Street at North Fairfax Street. The speakers will include:
- Hannah Miller, a leader with NOVA Students Demand Action and a student at T.C. Williams High School
- Miranda Tonsetic, a volunteer with Students Demand Action and a student at George Washington Middle School
- Naomi Wadler, an 11-year-old gun violence prevention advocate who spoke at the March for Our Lives event back in March in Washington, D.C.
- State Sen. Adam Ebbin, D-30th District
Students these days are too often the victims of gun violence, and young people "have spent their formative years in fear of gunshots — in their communities, homes and classrooms," Students Demand Action says in a statement.
