T.C. Williams Basketball Forfeits Wins After Allowing Fifth-Year Senior on Team
The high school's basketball team had to forfeit two games after they self-reported violations, according to report by The Washington Post.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The T.C. Williams High School boys varsity basketball team had to forfeit their first two wins of the season, after the school reported it had violated rules by allowing a fifth-year senior to play on the team, according to a report by The Washington Post.
The team has been in the spotlight after a school board member reportedly complained to school officials about the coach and got him fired, according to team parents. The school won't say why they fired the coach, citing "personnel" privacy concerns. The coach, who said he thought his firing was unfair, said the reasons given were for holding a practice on a Sunday and giving a player a ride home.
Parents on the team have said that after the coach was fired, the outgoing athletic director granted academic waivers before leaving the school system for another job. The outgoing athletic director and the principal of the school, who recently announced he'll be leaving at the end of the school year, were both involved in the decision to fire the coach, the coach said.
