Threat To Bomb Metro Station Leads To Charge In Alexandria

Nearby homes had been evacuated as police investigated, but no threat was found.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Metro Transit Police charged an Alexandria man Wednesday for allegedly threatening to bomb a Metro station.

Around 7:30 p.m., Alexandria Police assisted Metro Transit Police with the bomb threat investigation in the 1700 block of Dogwood Drive. Police arrested the suspect at his home, where he allegedly referenced explosive devices on the property.

Homes within a one-block area were evacuated until the scene was determined to be safe around 1 a.m., according to Alexandria Police. No threat to the community was found.

Henock Seyoum Pastoor, 27, of Alexandria, was charged with threats to bomb or damage buildings or means of transportation.
