ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Calling Alexandria "a vibrant destination in its own right," Vogue magazine is touting Alexandria as the place to stay during the presidential inauguration this week in a story posted Monday on its Web site headlined "Why Alexandria, VA, Is Way More Than Just a Suburb of DC."

Other reasons for visiting Alexandria during the inauguration: You'll have several options for getting around in addition to the usual bicycles, taxis, buses, metro, trolley and Uber: A water taxi service will be available on Friday for the inauguration and on Saturday for the Women's March on Washington.
