VP Visits Old Town Alexandria Business To Discuss Economic Relief
Vice President Kamala Harris made her first in-person visit to a small business since assuming her role, according to a pool report.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Vice President Kamala Harris visited an Old Town Alexandria business Wednesday morning to speak in support of President Joe Biden's proposed economic stimulus package.
Fibre Space, a women-owned business specializing in yarn as well as crocheting and knitting classes, was the location of the vice president's first in-person visit to a small business since assuming her role. According to a press pool report, Harris was scheduled to meet with owner Danielle Romanetti and three women who work at the business. Fibre Space opened for business at 2 p.m. Wednesday, later than usual following the vice president's morning visit.
During the visit, Harris spoke in support of the American Rescue Plan, Biden's proposed economic relief package. The stimulus was passed by the U.S. House and is under consideration in the Senate. Harris discussed parts of the American Rescue Plan that she said benefit women, including $15 billion in grants for small businesses, $1,400 direct payments to qualifying individuals, and investments to safely reopen schools and support child care.
