Water Rescue Made On Flooded Street In Old Town Alexandria
The fire department said medics were not needed for a driver in the stalled vehicle.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — As rain continues to impact the city Friday, Alexandria Fire Department made a water rescue in Old Town.
A water rescue team responded to Strand Street at Waterfront Park around 11 a.m. A vehicle had stalled in the flooded street, and the water rescue team helped the driver out. An EMS was not required for the driver.
The fire department urged residents to "turn around, don't drown" when encountering flooded roads. The National Weather Service notes that it's never safe to drive or walk into floodwaters and that 2 feet of rushing water can carry away SUVs and trucks.
