Another Huge Reston Development Approved: Report

RESTON, VA — The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors has approved zoning changes for a 1.3 million-square-foot development called Campus Commons situated east of Wiehle Avenue and bounded by Sunrise Valley Drive and the Dulles Toll Road, according to a report.

Washington Business Journal reports that the development will include three buildings with space for apartments, office, and ground-floor retail.

The project will include a 24-story tower that will host multifamily units.

The current site has two office buildings from the 1980s, according to the Reston Association.

"One of the main concerns expressed thus far by Reston citizens is the pedestrian connection to the Wiehle Reston East Metro station," the RA site states. "Currently the applicant has proposed an at-grade crossing of Wiehle Avenue and some have suggested an underpass to the Comstock site on the other side of Wiehle Avenue from this site."
