Boston Properties' Next Massive Development: Reston Gateway
The process has begun to build a huge 4-million-square-foot development near the future Reston Town Center Metro station.

RESTON, VA — One of Boston Properties' biggest Reston projects is kicking off in earnest this summer: Reston Gateway, which will cover nearly 4 million square feet near the new Reston Town Center Metro station set to open in 2020.
Boston Properties filed a rezoning request with Fairfax County last month as one of the first steps toward making Reston Gateway a reality. The huge development would be an integrated mix of office, residential, hotel, and retail/restaurant space situated on between 20-30 acres at Sunset Hills Road and Reston Town Center Parkway, just south of the W&OD Trail, according to a report from the Fairfax Newsletter.
The project will consist of eight different buildings, which will be constructed in two phases: blocks A-D on the western side of the lot, which would begin as soon as the site is ready, and blocks E-J, which will start after the current leases terminate, according to the report.

Under the project, the two Reston Corporate Center office buildings would be demolished to make way for around 2 million square feet of development, including a 1.56-acre "Central Park" with recreation areas and art installations.
