HERNDON, VA — A new do-it-yourself workshop will be opening in Herndon in January.

AR Workshop will open its second location at the Reston-Herndon Business Park at 315 Spring Street, and they plan to have a grand opening sometime in January, owners Jacqueline Maglione and Michelle Shepard tell Patch. Their first location opened in Leesburg in March 2018.

Their two shops are part of a larger chain of AR Workshops that can be found across the country, including several in the D.C. area.

The workshop is a DIY boutique where guests come in and make their own crafts such as wood signs, centerpiece boxes, and more.

The shop is specially suited for birthday parties, team-building events, and other such group outings.

Special workshops will be offered on weekends as well as weeknights at 6 p.m. They will also be available during the day two to three times per week.

Those hoping to visit can either register for a scheduled workshop or book a group event.

"Join any one of our scheduled workshops for the most memorable DIY experience!" their website states. "Hands-on classes to teach you how to create the latest on-trend designs on gorgeous customizable decor accessories. Wood, canvas, metal, yarn… something for everyone. No skill necessary!"
