Fairfax Adds More Grab And Go Meal Sites Due To Coronavirus

Fairfax County Public Schools expanded the number of sites and added several pop-locations and bus routes where students can grab meals.

RESTON, VA — Fairfax County Public Schools has opened additional sites for free grab-and-go meal distribution to students during the extended school closure related to the new coronavirus outbreak.

FCPS was already distributing meals at 29 school locations. As of Thursday, it's expanding the number of school locations to 32 and distributing meals at pop-up locations and several bus routes throughout the county.

FCPS had five initial meal distribution sites as schools closed Friday, March 13 amid concerns about new coronavirus, or COVID-19. The sites are intended to help families that rely on free and reduced priced school meals.

All FCPS students and other county children under 18 can receive one meal for free, and additional meals can be requested at no cost. Breakfast and lunch meals are available to adults for $2.

Food distribution sites are located outside the schools. Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The following list includes all the schools where meals can be picked up:
