Fast Finishes at Last Weekend's RSTA Meets

Reston Swim Team Association swimmers completed their second weekend of summer 2021 competition on June 19.

The second weekend of RSTA summer 2021 competition brought more fast swims and more fun with friends on June 19! Two North Hills swimmers broke team records in the 50m backstroke, while one Glade swimmer set three new team records for the Dolphins.

Katie Cazenas beat her own time from last week by 0.47 second in the Girls 15-18 50m Backstroke, setting a new North Hills record of 32.17 seconds. Her teammate, Evan Zhang, raced to a 29.08-second finish in the Boys 15-18 50m Backstroke, breaking the team record previously set in 2008 in that event by 0.31 second.

Marco Anguizola set new Glade team records in the Boys 13-14 50m Butterfly (34.25 seconds), Breaststroke (37.79 seconds), and Freestyle (29.74 seconds). The butterfly and freestyle records had been previously set in 2019, while the breaststroke record had stood since 2017.
