Fewer Trains To Serve Silver Line Riders This Weekend
Metro is reducing service on the Silver Line this weekend to repair a concrete structure near a District station.

RESTON, VA — Metro has announced that service on the Silver Line is being reduced from Friday through Sunday as repairs are made to a concrete structure near the east end of the line, between stations in the District and Maryland.
Silver Line trains will operate every 24 minutes all day Friday and throughout the weekend, including Friday's rush hour, between Wiehle-Reston East and the Largo Town Center station in Maryland. Metro said it expects normal service to resume as of 5 a.m. Monday.
Ten Metro stations will experience reduced service. Customers who normally use the Silver Line in Northern Virginia are advised to board Orange Line trains at West Falls Church. The local Silver Line stations seeing reduced service include:

- Wiehle-Reston East
- Spring Hill
- Greensboro
- Tysons Corner
- McLean
The other five Metro stations include:
- Benning Road (use Minnesota Ave or Metrobus as alternate)
- Capitol Heights (use Deanwood or Metrobus as alternate)
- Addison Road (use Cheverly or Metrobus as alternate)
- Morgan Boulevard (use New Carrollton or Branch Ave as alternate)
- Largo Town Center (use New Carrollton or Branch Ave as alternate)
The service reduction will allow a Metro crew to make concrete structural repairs under rails between the Benning Road station in the District and the Capitol Heights station in Maryland.

Metro said Rush Hour Promise will not be in effect for customers traveling to or from the 10 affected stations, but will remain in effect on all other lines. Metro is notifying customers of this service change through MetroAlerts email and text messages, social media, signs in stations and public address announcements.
