Field Hockey: Seahawks Shut Out Washington-Lee in Postseason
Team takes on McLean in semis Wednesday.

The South Lakes field hockey team will take on McLean in the Liberty District semifinals Wednesday after the Seahawks upset Washington-Lee in the first playoff round.
Against Washington-Lee, the Seahawks held a 1-0 halftime lead en route to the upset of the No. 3 seed and a spot in the Northern Region tournament for the first time in recent memory.

The Seahawks were able to hold on to the shutout thanks to goal keeper Allie Micka, center defender Hannah Becker and side defensive strong holds, Sara Hawes and Lauren Horlacher. Â
The Seahawk goal occurred on a center midfield feed from Olivia Wolfe to Ally McCarty, who hit the ball past the General goalie. Â The Generals fought hard through the end of the game, but were unable to tie the game.
