Holiday Food Drive Feeds First Responders, Helps Area Restaurants

RESTON, VA — As it has in the previous 11 years, the First Responders Council of the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) delivered meals to first responders during the holidays. The annual effort is a way for GRCC and the community to thank the police, fire & rescue, and communications staff for their hard work year-round.

This year, it took only two weeks to raise more the $6,000 needed to provide over 500 meals for all shifts in Reston from Dec. 14-18. This effort not only fed the first responders, it helped purchase trays of food from area restaurants that are struggling due to the pandemic. In previous years, the food was donated by the restaurants.

In a press release, GRCC thanked the following business and individuals for their help with this year's Feed a First Responder meal donation and delivery program:
