
JACK MARTIN BRYANT (Age 80), of Reston, Va., died on Monday, March 30, 2015 after a brief illness. He is survived by his devoted children, Sarah V. Bryant and John F. Bryant; their mother, Mary F. Bryant; beloved siblings, Robert H. Bryant, Eleanor B. Lee (Gordon), and Susan B. Golladay; and many other loving relatives and friends. His parents, H. Tucker and Frances M. Bryant, and sisters, Alice J. Bryant and Sallie B. Seese, preceded him in death.
Born and raised in Prince William, Va., Jack was a 1951 graduate of Osbourn High School and attended George Washington University. He joined the U.S. Department of State in July 1951, apart from two years of service in the U.S. Army (1957-59, Camp Wolters, Tx.); he spent his entire career with the Department. He retired in 1994, after 43 years of distinguished service, as Deputy Executive Director of the Bureau of African Affairs. He was a past member of Westwood Country Club and Wesley United Methodist Church, Vienna, Va.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at noon at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden St., Herndon, Va. 20170. The family will gather and receive friends prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. to noon. A reception will follow the service.
