Lake Anne, Reston Real Estate: Hickory Cluster

The Hickory Cluster in Reston Virginia is one of the original developments in Reston with a rich history behind it!

There are many delightful things that can grab your attention when you’re looking at Reston homes! Perhaps the most eye captivating and the closest to nature is the Lake Anne. Let’s have a brief look at Lake Anne: The Lake Anne was initially the most developed community located within Reston. The Lake was founded in 1964. The development of the Lake led to construction on one of the first townhouse clusters known as the Hickory Cluster.

Who was the designer of Hickory Cluster? The Hickory Cluster was designed by Charles M. Goodman to actually incorporate 90 townhouses. These 90 townhouses were one out of the Reston’s three original neighborhoods. This design done by Charles Goodman for the cluster was done from the modernist point of view and there was a shift away from the colonial revival that was grabbing Virginia. This design that has modern structure brought about denser development which gave room for preservation of the environment. This gave dazzling landscape around Lake Anne.

The Hickory Cluster was such a place that gave residents the opportunity to walk and have a feel of nature instead of colliding with it. This was possible because the Hickory Cluster was designed to give space for nature. The many trails with tunnels and bridges really added to this amazing opportunity enjoyed by the residents. Hickory Cluster is known to have this relaxing atmosphere and open to social vibe as a result of its nearness to nature. This comfort made the Hickory Cluster more refreshing than other areas in the DMV.
