Local Jersey Mike's Store Donates Sales To Cornerstones For A Day
Support those in need in northwestern Fairfax County by grabbing a meal from Jersey Mike's in Reston on March 31.
RESTON, VA — Jersey Mike's Subs store at 2254 Hunters Woods Plaza in Reston is donating 100 percent of sales to Cornerstones on Wednesday.
The Reston-based non-profit helps to promote self-sufficiency for neighbors in northwestern Fairfax County. It doest this by providing support and advocacy for those in need of food, shelter, affordable housing, and childcare.
The effort is part of the sandwich franchise chain's Month of Giving, which has raised $32 million for local charities since 2011. Jersey Mike's hopes to shatter its own record and raise more than $8 million this year, it said in a news release.

Jersey Mike’s has been taking donations all month for selected charities. “All sales from all locations” will be donated on Wednesday, the company said. Owners will even donate their money to the cause so that every dollar that flows in on Wednesday will go to charity.
Restaurant owners pick the charities and identify organizations “that support local neighborhoods and build a stronger community,” the company said.
