Pumpkin 5K and Movement Challenge Aims To Get Reston Moving

The Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce is encouraging residents to get up and get moving in the month of October.

RESTON, VA — The Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce wants to get people up and moving in the month of October. Now's your chance to lose the "Quarantine 15" you've accumulated by being stuck at home due to the pandemic.

This year, like everything else, the Annual Pumpkin 5K and Movement Challenge moves online. The month-long fitness challenge allows Reston residents to participate virtually at a number of levels, including:

  • 1 mile run/walk
  • 5K run/walk
  • The “Halloween 13” – a 13-mile challenge that allows participants to virtually run around Reston.
  • Moving minutes challenges of 500, 700 or 1000 minutes

If running or walking is not your bag, the chamber encourages participants to walk, swim, bike, play pickle ball or whatever to go the distance. Participants can compete as individuals or as part of a team to earn challenge perks and swag. Go online to register or to find more information.
