RESTON, VA — New Trail Cycling & Strength Studio is planning an official reopening of its indoor studio one year after shutting down due to COVID-19.

Starting March 14, participants will be able to do classes virtually, outdoors, or indoors at the Reston studio in Lake Anne Plaza.

New Trail Cycling & Strength Studio has kept the inside of the studio closed since last March. During that time, owner Liz Kamp switched to offering virtual as well as outdoor classes.

With more information about virus transmission and local COVID-19 cases on the decline, the studio decided it could once again safely offer classes indoors. The indoor classes will be limited to six participants.

“It’s been an incredibly difficult year watching my growing business come to a screeching halt,” Kamp said in a statement. “We are constantly innovating and trying to meet the needs of our amazing community while staying afloat.”

Kamp, who opened New Trail in 2018, said she appreciates the studio’s members who kept their memberships running while they were unable to work out and neighbors who continued to purchase apparel at the studio's shop.

“I’m proud of where we are and excited to see where the future takes us,” she said.

All classes will still be available virtually through Zoom. Classes range from indoor cycling and strength to yoga and classes for people 55 and older.

The safety measures in place for the indoor classes include temperature checks upon arrival, 10-foot spacing between participants and mask-wearing. Doors will remain open and the fresh air HVAC system will be on at all times.

New Trail said its HVAC system pumps in fresh air and achieves many of the recommendations issued by the federal government for reducing airborne infectious aerosol exposure.

Reopening sales will be available through March 31. New customers can get three classes for $45. Any new or upgraded membership will get six months of free video-on-demand access.
