Reston Office Building Demolished To Make Way For Townhomes (Video)
An office building on Sunrise Valley Drive is currently being torn apart as the latest victim of redevelopment in the area.
RESTON, VA — Heavy-duty construction equipment is currently tearing down a six-story office building at 11720 Sunrise Valley Drive as developers look to build 54 new townhomes on the site.
RestonNow editor Dave Emke posted video of the building's destruction on Twitter, which is embedded below.
The site spans 3.45 acres and is across the street from Reston National Golf Course, which itself has been targeted for residential redevelopment. Construction of the townhomes was approved last October, and construction is set to begin in 2018, according to Rooney Properties, which owned the property before selling it to Toll Brothers.
