Watch: The 2019 Reston Holiday Parade
One of America's biggest holiday parades marched through Reston Town Center on Friday.

RESTON, VA — The Reston Holiday Parade kicked off Friday morning at 11 a.m., marking the official start of the Christmas season for the Northern Virginia area. WJLA recorded a portion of the parade, embedded below.
The Reston Holiday Parade takes place on the Friday after Thanksgiving every year, and this is the 29th edition of the parade.
"Come for a full day of community, charity and cheer, including visits and photos with Santa, tree lighting, a sing-along and horse-drawn carriage rides," according to the Reston Community Center website.

USA Today has nominated it each year as one of the best 20 holiday parades in the country, and voters choose which ones they like the best. One year, the Reston Holiday Parade beat out the famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Here are some scenes from this year's parade posted on social media.
