Get to know your neighbor, Robert Chevez, the Chief Visionary Officer at The CAZA Group.
We had the opportunity to chat for three minutes on a virtual park bench with Reston resident and real estate professional Robert Chevez.
Chevez is the Chief Visionary Officer at The CAZA Group of Keller Williams Realty, a sales and marketing real estate team specializing in selling residential and commercial real estate. Chevez started the business with his wife in 2005 and sells over 100 homes each year in and around Reston. “I work where I live, you can’t beat that,” he says.

What attracted to you to this business, and how did you start?
I loved watching the first series of “Flip That House.” They had an investment division and a realty division which each supported the other. That show, along with local real estate investment groups inspired my wife and I start buying, fixing and selling properties for profit.

What’s the best part about doing business in your town?
I work where I live, you can’t beat that. I know the neighborhoods, people and businesses in our community which makes my job easier and helps me service my clients at a higher level.
If you were to get an indulgent snack in your town, where would you go and what would you get?
I love the Kabob’s at Reston Kabob.
If you were going to have a secret rendezvous in town, where would it be?
Lake Anne at the end of the pier.
What’s the biggest challenge or most difficult moment you’ve faced in your job?
In 2008 when the real estate market was turned on its head we had to reinvent our business. It actually created the biggest opportunity for us because it propelled us to start focusing on how to help sellers and buyers get out of the real estate mess they were in.
You’re not the only person in this business. How do you distinguish yourself from the others?
Our Mission is to Create Raving Fans. Our entire business has been created to make this mission come alive! The other is our value proposition to our sellers - “We Guarantee to sell your home in 60 days or less or we will sell it for FREE!”
What advice would you give to a person just starting in your business?
Read “The Millionaire Real Estate Agent” by Gary Keller.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
I heard General Schwartzkopf once say - “do the right thing.” It has always stuck with me. The other is to work hard — “more than 50 percent of your success will come from working hard.”
