RESTON, VA -- Vapiano at Reston Town Center, which had been closed lately for a "major restructuring," is at the center of a lawsuit alleging an international money laundering operation, according to a report.

Reston Now reports that a lawsuit in California brought by Plutos Sama Holdings -- which bought shares of Vapiano's parent company earlier this year -- claims that people who are trying to take control of the chain used it to launder money.

The report adds that the complaint alleges a "smear campaign" by these individuals, including threats and notes that were "so aggressive that they prevented the company from working with restaurant staff."
