VIDEO: Local Man Scores Huge Goal For Team USA In Olympics

Vienna's Garrett Roe scored in Team USA's huge 5-1 win over Slovakia, sending the team to the quarterfinal.

A hockey player who grew up not far from Reston and Herndon in nearby Vienna made NoVa proud by scoring a big goal for Team USA against Slovakia Monday.

Garrett Roe's goal in the third period for the U.S. Men's Hockey Team put the game out of reach for Slovakia, and Team USA will advance to the quarterfinal after a disappointing start in the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Roe has now scored two goals in the Olympics, scoring the first in an overtime loss to Slovenia. You can watch video of his latest goal, embedded at the bottom of this post.
